Many states have laws governing the age at which you may legally operate a vessel. The legal age of operation may depend on the horsepower, size, or type of vessel. Certain ages may be allowed to operate if under adult supervision. In addition, many states also have boater education courses that must be successfully completed or licenses that must be acquired before you may operate a vessel.
