In general, this information applies to all recreational watercraft (powerboats, PWCs, sailboats and boats which are paddled). PWC and Jet Ski operators often have additional laws and restrictions which apply to them.

Study your state's boating safety course and take the boater exam online. Upon passing, you'll either print out your temporary boating safety course certificate, or your permanent boating safety card will be mailed to you.
